Polly Judge is an emerging British painter based in Margate. Her work is characterised by loose acrylic washes and stark graphic lines, set within a soft, muted palette and punctuated by areas of dense pattern. Drawing on found imagery and personal family photographs, she weaves together diverse source material including film stills, period interiors, and both contemporary and vintage patterns.

Judge’s paintings depict intimate, melancholic domestic scenes rooted in personal histories. These works suggest narratives that resist a fixed sense of time or place, hovering between memory, imagination, and lived experience.

Mostly self-taught, Judge’s affinity for print and pattern stems from her background in fashion and textiles. She has worked with Southover Gallery in Lewes and is a member of the inaugural Turps Margate cohort.
